Mystery Babylon: Origin of Exigent Faith

Pt. Huron, MI: Mystery Babylon is not a representation of one Christian denomination, but a representation of all Christians denominations. Mystery Babylon is a system of religious errors and traditions that Satan forged as chains for the church.

Jesus said: “Come out of her my people.”

Jesus gave a command to His church, "Come out of “her” my people, that you be not partaker of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues" (Rev.18:4).

"Her" is “Mystery Babylon,” the “Mother of Harlots,” the “abomination of the whole earth.” Most Christians will say that this woman, depicted by Jesus in the book of Revelation, arrayed in purple and scarlet and decked with precious stones, and drinking out of the cup full of abominations, thus displaying the filthiness of her fornication, is the Catholic Church. However, Mystery Babylon is not a representation of one Christian denomination, but a representation of all Christians denominations. Mystery Babylon is a system of religious errors and traditions that Satan forged as chains for the church. Jesus called this system a “mystery” because Satan shielded his efforts behind scripture and was thus able to make inroads into the church with his own principles.

We understand that throughout history Satan and his fallen angels rivaled God through the creation of many belief systems. We understand that they attempted to grandstand God, setting themselves up as Savior-beings to befriend humanity. They were and are worshiped and honored as gods in the thousands of temples around the world. When the church was born, Satan was also able to alter his message somewhat, but still transpose the same principles onto the church. The same philosophies that we saw reigning in the 13 kingdoms we see actively reigning in the church. These fallen angels set policy for the church to break the bonds of truth, and the False Religious System (FRS) was born.

Under Satan’s persuasion the Bible was reduced to nothing more than a parable about life. Although Jesus taught by parable, He was not teaching about life. He was teaching about faith. Satan’s tactic was to reference mankind to themselves and their need and to thus bring God down to the level of that need. God is then perceived through the eyes of the flesh rather than the eye of faith. Satan used every aspect of life from birth to death and paralleled these to the Bible and scripture to psycho-analyze life’s journey and provide a “biblical perspective” of his own principles. The gospel was removed from the record of Jesus Christ onto the record of the soul and the human experience. In other words, the pattern that Satan provided for faith centered on the psychology of human needs, issues, initiatives, and themes. These fallen angels created their own witness they used to verity this false record and the end result was a message that was biblical in content, but unsanctified in practice.

Jesus spoke of Satan’s infiltration into His church, “But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden” (Rev. 2:24).

The “depths of Satan” are seen in Satan’s shrewd use of the word of God to move the hearts of the people after his own agenda (as he attempted to do when he tempted Jesus). Satan frustrates and disallows the work of Christ in the soul by taking the scriptures and setting them within the dynamics of his own principles. Using the basic ingredients of pride, fear, lust, and desire, Satan matches these with God’s “promises” to make inroads for human aspiration to replace faith and human principles to replace truth.

This depth of Satan’s craft in the church is called “Satan’s Seat.” Jesus said, “I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth” (Rev. 2:13). Satan was not literally dwelling on the earth, but he was dwelling in the form of knowledge, and in the tools, and in the hearts of those who said they believed in Jesus, but allowed themselves to be inspired by seducing spirits and doctrines of devils (1Tim. 4:1). Satan’s Seat is anyplace where false doctrine originates and is promoted.

Jesus spoke of Satan’s Seat when speaking to the Scribes and Pharisees. “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves” (Mt. 23:15). Why did Jesus speak so harshly against the religious leaders of His time? The Scribes and Pharisees had a great evangelistic program, but the people were converted into a system and not into the covenant and thus became the offspring of false knowledge. This is evidence of Satan’s Seat.

Satan’s Seat in the church created the Exigent Faith, negative soul impact, and faith exploitation. The Exigent Faith is a faith that is in crisis and requires immediate action to remedy crisis. The Exigent Faith is in crisis because it follows the course of the flesh rather than the course of the Spirit, therefore, the fleshly efforts to sustain faith wearies the will and robs the heart of faith. When the knowledge of Christ is removed from Christ, the power for faith is also removed from Christ. We often hear people comment on the Exigent Faith saying, “The church is full of hypocrites.” In many instances people are referring to their own personal experience with conversion and saying, “You preached a message that appealed to me emotionally, it convicted me of sin; you promised a Jesus who would free me from my sins, and then you gave me church programs and Sunday School. With my mind I could agree with the message of Christ, with my heart I loved God and I was able to change my thinking, change my attitudes, and change some habits, but my nature did not change. Twenty years after my conversion—I am the hypocrite.”

Christians did not rush to the altar of conversion intending to conform to hypocrisy. Faith models were produced based on evolving truths about Jesus Christ, which produced an Exigent Faith. Hypocrisy is in the pattern of the faith model. It is no wonder Christians experience faith crisis, emotional pain, frustration, confusion, and separation anxiety. They are choosing to express faith with things that isolate them from God. That is evidence of Satan’s Seat. The condition of the church in these end times in which we are living drives home the fact that Satan’s principles have still found relevancy in today’s church. In depicting this system as “The mother, being a harlot,” Jesus was speaking of many illegitimate children being born of that system. These are the offspring of this system. "He that is joined to a harlot is one flesh." Those who embrace the philosophies Satan has sown into the gospel also embrace its author, the father of lies, Satan himself.

Some have said that when Jesus Christ returns He will separate the sheep from the goats until then they will be together so why would God go against His word and start separating them before that?

When Jesus said, "Come out of “her” my people,” He was giving a command to the church, not offering an option. Jesus’ command means that He has provided the power for this separation in these last days. With the restoration of His Headship and the return of Apostolic Governance, the church is now enabled to participate with her own separation from the influence of Satan’s Seat.

God will accept as sheep those who come out and their cleansing at His hand. When Jesus returns to take His people from the earth, that is one of the physical separation takes place. At that time, you don't want to be a goat, do you? All those who continue to partake of Satan’s Seat will be left behind as goats.

Through true Apostolic Governance God is removing Satan’s Seat from the Church and restoring the crown of righteousness to Jesus Christ. Jesus commissioned the knowledge stewards of His covenant to direct faith according to the design of God. As God is restoring the Church to that divine stewardship of truth, Christians are being educated about the level at which they are being engaged. They are able to conduct their own impact studies and determine if they are being engaged at the emotional level, the financial level, the motivational level, or the behavioral level. They are empowered to track the symptoms and behaviors of exigent faith, recognize faith exploitation, and understand the causal links between short-cut theology and short-term results. They then have the power of choice between low end yield mitigating tools that temporarily relieve the conscience from sin, and the high end yield mediation of Jesus Christ that purges the conscience from sin. Knowing the difference between the two empowers believers.

Believers knew their faith was in crisis, they just didn’t know what questions to ask. They did ask, “What’s the matter with me?” There is nothing wrong with them, there is something wrong with the doctrine and discipline they embraced. They did not realize that pseudo theology produces pseudo changes in the soul. Instead of going through cycles of growth they continued in the same cycle of sin and death. The virtues of Christ, on the other hand, changes the substance of the soul and brings life and healing. Although Satan and his 13 Princes tried to remove the power of Jesus Christ from the gospel by presenting many versions of the redemption story, and they have gone so far as to infiltrate the church, Jesus said “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (the church)” (Mt.16:18).
