The ecumenical movement is not new. The World council of Churches was founded
in 1948; The World Alliance of Reformed Churches was formed in 1970 (but it's
ecumenical roots go back as far as 1875); The Conference of European Churches
was founded in 1959. There are literally hundreds of groups which are considered 'ecumenical' because they represent the unification of christian faiths in an effort to deal with a world in despair. There is no global unification of christian faiths into one faith, but many groups of interconnected cross breeds of faiths that have unified in search of a common goal.
The 'common christian witness' was seen in the symbolism of Christ giving of Himself freely and selflessly. Each believer was challenged to duplicate this symbol and live out this symbolism in his or her own life. Satan sowed a gospel of symbolism and similarities void of the reality and power of redemption. When these determined believers came together, their mind was dominated by the doctrine of their choice, descent reigned, and little work was accomplished, the 'mission' failed, and people were frustrated because they were not able to visibly express the unity they sought. Believers saw that the world was still in despair and that the peoples of the world looked upon their 'christian efforts' with disdain, and they were shamed. They claimed the love of God through Jesus Christ through a process of imitation, they claimed that they could reproduce this symbolism of love and rid the world of evil, but evil still reigned. The fragile, superficial unity had to be restructured. It was decided that, in the name of their common goal (to work towards wiping out injustices, and providing aid and relief), that it would be best if each believer set aside the principle of their doctrine and unite around the common cause before them. This idea ('vision') seemed to guarantee a 'new' unified effort.
MISLEADING LANGUAGE: The word 'ECUMENICAL' and 'UNITY' have become misleading. They serve to fulfill the vision of man, but not the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The 'ecumenical' movement is suggesting 'unity' through an agreement to collaborate on the efforts of many faiths to solve the earth's problems. Each is allowed to hold comfortably to their own theology without being crowded by another. The environment of the 'ecumenical' group is created to allow for each independent faith in God while at the same time providing a table for corporate problem solving.
THE PROBLEM: Jesus is not sitting at the table of reform. Why did Jesus deny the seat offered to Him at these ecumenical tables? Because Jesus is not called the 'world's problem solver'. Jesus is called the Saviour of the world. The problem of the world is not social injustice, it is sin and death. Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant. Under that mediation, sin and death are in remission. Jesus was sent to safeguard the world against Satan through His own blood. If social reform can save the world, why did Jesus shed His blood? The ecumenical brain stormers concentrated their energies to restore unity by finding common commitments, but this does not bring the sinner into the experience of redemption through Jesus Christ, and the sinner does not find the haven of rest that is in Christ only. The sinners of the world are being divided into the various religious camps, but are not being safeguarded from the working of iniquity in the soul. Each believer is true to their principle as a form of pure religion, but they were not true to God. They made sought God to bow down to their principle.
DEMONS BOUND: When Solomon's temple was in building, the demons of the land were bound and the land and the people experienced the divine healing and peace that only God can give. When Jesus preached the gospel in the First 8th Week, He cleansed the temple and cleansed the sons of Levi. He also prepared and cleansed His apostles to bring all believers into one doctrine and into the function of one new priesthood. The land and the people again experienced the divine healing and peace of God as demons were bound and all believers fulfilled their priesthood. When the Church rebelled against God by despising government, they set pastors and mock apostles in place of the true stewards of the mystery of Christ, and the cleansing ceased, and the people were again brought into bondage to Satan, and the land was spoiled because the soul was spoiled. God set the safeguard in Christ through His government, His truth, and His Spirit. When these are denied, the safeguard is no longer in place, and the people suffer. History merely repeats itself. In the Old Testament God placed Himself as the King, Shepard, and Judge of the Jews to lead them, guide them, and nurture them. He brought Abraham into covenant with Him; He delivered Israel from their enemies; He gave them manna in the wilderness; He sent Moses, the law giver. But the children of Israel saw the nations around them and desired to copy their form of government. They desired a king after their own choosing. I Sam.8:5-9:
I Sam.8:12-20:
APOSTASY: The Church fell into APOSTASY because they refused the headship of Christ through apostles, and set up mock apostles, and substituted pastors in place of apostles, and followed the pattern of faith that televangelists provided. This is why believers all over the world are crying out against the bondage that these rulers have exercised over them. God did not hear the cry of the people during this time because He gave them over to their own lust. This is the type of spiritual rulership that they chose, and under this bondage they would serve the lust and whim of the pastor (king) until the time appointed of Christ to purify the Church. Pastors made you 'door greeters', the 'passers of his money plate', the 'watchers of the children' in the nursery. You played music to entertain him and draw the crowds. You thought you would find yourself (your place) so you willingly gave yourself over to anything that confirmed your aspirations and provided you the social contacts that made you feel that you 'belonged'. This is why your pastor had to develop all those new programs and envisioned new 'works for God', to feed the ferocious appetite of the sheep who lusted after evil things. God did not allow you to be spiritually satisfied because you disregarded the Head, and soon you cried out against the pastor (the one you chose and honored above Christ), and you left him behind to find yourself a new king, and were brought into a new form of bondage through that man's principle. Pastors took the tenth of your income and then demanded a 'love offering' on top of that; they enslaved you to their visions of evangelism and social reform and used up your time and talents to build a name and kingdom for themselves. God gave the sheep over to these wicked shepherds who took them and enslaved them into a religious system that did NOT safeguard them against Satan. When the sheep rejected the headship of Christ through apostles, they lost the stewardship of that office. Doctrine no longer came from the headship of Christ, but from the shepherds who took the place of living apostles. Each found a principle which they said represented Jesus Christ, and each principle was set against the other. Each proved their own boast as 'God inspired' and warred against the boast of the other. The many ecumenical efforts do not address the apostate church. The apostasy of the Church speaks of the abandonment of the headship of Christ and the abandonment of the original foundation of truth. Because of the apostasy of the Church, the demons have not been bound, and there has been no divine healing in the land. Social reform does not bring divine healing, nor does it restore the headship of Christ, nor does it reform and restore the original foundation of truth. Despite the many years of ecumenical efforts, the church is not reborn, is not reformed, and society is in gross darkness.
INVITATION: The time appointed by Christ to purify the Church has now come. Christ is now again asserting His divine Headship over the Body of Christ by again appointing apostles to restore the doctrine of Christ; to proclaim the year of release, to bring out of the prison house those who were bound with the chains of false indoctrination. You who are tired of reform and ecumenical unity that does not restore the apostate church, come for your doctrinal cleansing and be renewed in the spirit of your mind as Christ provides your cleansing and restores you to the priesthood as a true believer. Our prayers are with the Wheat that God will give them the strength to come for their doctrinal cleansing so that they can separate their faith from the Tares that Satan has sown in the Church.
